Remarks on Color

An early 3-volume set of artist's books exploring my ongoing series of paintings based on paint chips. In the first volume, Color, you see only the colors of my paintings printed on a field of transparent ink representing the size of the panel. The second volume, Remarks, shows only the names and code numbers associated with each color. The third volume, Remarks on Color, combines the names and colors. The name of my project derives from Ludwig Wittgenstein's treatise on color by the same name. Printed on an offset litho proofing press with custom-tinted inks and blind embossing on acid-free paper, slipcased, ed. 500, 1997.
